Points for residency for having friends in Canada?

Points for residency for having friends in Canada? Points for residency for having friends in Canada?

That's right!

This program, called Skill Worker Overseas, is 100% focused on the province of Manitoba, and is quite attractive because of the standards it breaks in what is known in Canadian immigration.

What makes it so unique and exceptional is that the points for permanent residency are obtained through: ties to the province (study or work), personal (family or acquaintances), plus personal and professional profile (from your country of origin), as is done with Express Entry. Express Entry

Have you lived, studied or worked in Manitoba, do you have any friends or acquaintances in this province, any close or distant relatives? If the answer is yes, you have already started to make some of the points that can give you permanent residence by provincial nomination .

Let's start with the process!

  1. It is important to have the support and support of a person living in Manitoba such as: siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, parents, grandparents, (but not children) , that are willing to give you that support. This person must have lived in Manitoba for at least one year, be a permanent resident or a Canadian citizen.

*If in the past that person has already brought other people to Canada, the one who arrived, for example, must have been very well established in the province.

  1. If you lived in Manitoba on a valid work visa, and worked at least six months full time (cannot be part time), that can also earn you points in your process. If, on the other hand, you studied one, two years or more (the more years, the better) at universities or colleges, you will also earn points .

*Remember that language courses are not valid, they do not apply.

Point system: get out the calculator!

In this process, we must get at least 60 points to be able to apply. How do we get them?

Languages: English as a first language and French as a second language, for example. For the first language, the highest score you can get is 20 points, achieving a CLB 8 in IELTS general or CELPIP. For the second language, if you get a CLB 5, you will receive five points.

Age: From the age of 18 onwards, you start earning points. You get four points per 18, and the highest score is between 21 and 45 years old, which is equivalent to 10 points.

Work experience in your home country: If you have four of experience, you will earn 15 points.

Education: The higher your education levels, the better. A master's degree or PHD gives 25 points. This means that in order for you to demonstrate these studies, you need to do it through an ECA: Educational Credential Assessment which is the comparison of your studies to demonstrate to Canada.

Then we add up: these factors that we have just listed (maximum 35 points), plus the adaptability factors that are your connection to Manitoba.

Adaptability factors: maximum 25 points.

Personal connections: If you have a close relative in Manitoba, you will receive 20 points immediately, or 20 if you have an invitation to apply for residency. For distant relatives or friends: 10 points.

Previous experience in Manitoba: If you worked in Manitoba at least six months full time, 12 points. If you studied a two-year degree, you will get 12 points. For a one-year degree: 10 points.

This option can ultimately bring them to Canada to fulfill their dream. It is an excellent option for people who already have a history with Manitoba, but had to return to their home country for some reason, or for people who have never been to Canada, but have the family or personal connections with very good profiles.
