Express Entry: "Straight to permanent residency".
Express Entry, one of the fastest ways to obtain permanent residency, has two facets that must be fulfilled:
FIRST STAGE: have an excellent profile and be awarded a score above 67 points by the Government of Canada. To obtain above this score you require:
- Education: have a university education, and if you can have a Master's degree and/or doctorate , even better.
- Language: have a high proficiency in English and/or French (IELTS or TEFF exam).
- Work experience, the experience you have has to be linked to what you studied (experience for more than 12 months).
- Age: to be a person under 45 years of age, since from that age onwards no points are added for age.
- If you are married, your partner 's profile can help you as well as hurt you, your partner needs to have a profile similar or better than yours to help increase the score.
SECOND STAGE: the Pool of Candidates; After fulfilling all the above requirements and having a score of more than 67 points, you enter the pool of candidates where Canada makes rounds of selection and looks for people with higher scores, the last rounds of selection were for people who have 472 points in the pool of candidates, this score is achieved only by people who score between 70 or 72 points before entering the pool of candidates. The higher your score, the more chances you have of being selected.
How do I show Canada my full profile?
After Canada sees your profile and your points, they will issue you an invitation to apply for permanent residency and it is at that time that you have to send Canada evidence of your entire profile.
