Venezuelans can also apply to graduate school in Canada

Venezuelans can also apply to graduate school in CanadaVenezuelans can also apply to graduate school in Canada

Canada is a dream country for many Venezuelans who want to improve their quality of life. This population has been carrying out massive mobilizations in recent years for social, economic and political reasons in the country and many have emigrated to different nations in search of new economic and educational opportunities.

Unlike other countries, entry to Canada was a bit complicated until a few months ago and the vast majority of study visas were rejected, which generated a natural uncertainty among potential students and workers who at the time did not see the light on the road to this longed-for destination. Some declined and others were left with the illusion of trying the process again. The good news is that now it is different and they are approving more visas for Venezuelans!

The Canadian government also opens its doors to them, that's why I decided to write this article dedicated to people who want to come to do a postgraduate degree from that beautiful land called Venezuela. Let's keep reading!

What is the key to getting your Canadian visa approved?

Visas for international students have a higher percentage of being approved when the applicant is very well prepared in the following aspects:

  • Proficient in English at an upper-intermediate level: the score for this level is 6.5 and above for the IELTS test. You can prepare for the IELTS with our certified Plantea Immiland teachers.
  • If you speak French, you will have a huge advantage, as you can also apply to universities in French-speaking provinces, including opting for economic mobility migration programs.
  • Your partner's profile, if you have one, should be as high and attractive to Canada as yours, i.e. your partner should also speak English and/or French and have studies that will allow him/her to find job offers here.
  • You have elements of roots in Venezuela: you can demonstrate that:
  • His family is settled in Venezuela and is expecting him back when he graduates.
  • You have movable and/or immovable property in your name.
  • He has the opportunity to return to work in Venezuela.
  • You have enough money to cover your first year of study and living expenses: to come to Canada to study, you should have about 30,000.00 CAD saved in a recognized bank account, this amount should be reflected during the last three months. It is true that the study threshold this 2024 has increased to 20,635.00 CAD, but, at Immiland, we always recommend to raise the economic profile to have more advantages in this evaluation.
  • It has a current and valid passport: we know very well that the processing of the Venezuelan passport has undergone changes in the way it is managed, but also the New Saime System has improved and the delivery is much more expeditious, so complete this step thoroughly.
  • The letter of reasons to come to study has valid arguments: it is important to know what you should explain in the letter of reasons to come to Canada, since it must be objective, clear and specific. For example, you can write that you want to come to Canada to study a career that maintains the logical thread of what you studied or worked in Venezuela and explain how this new career will help you in your future professional development

This is a more convincing reason for the immigration officer than explaining that you want to improve your quality of life because in Venezuela there are no opportunities for growth, etc. Remember that the immigration officer is a guarantor of the socio-economic integrity of Canada, therefore, you must convince him/her with valid arguments that demonstrate that your arrival will bring benefits and not burdens to the State. Learn more about the letter of motivation.

Important! If you do not know which province or graduate program to choose, seek specialized academic advice and with legal authorization, there are many scams in this process, so avoid falling into misleading offers in the rush to emigrate or by choosing the guidance of third parties who are not regulated consultants.

You can explore our website Immiland Education, here you will find a detailed description of the provinces and their universities, living costs, postgraduate degrees in demand, and much more. We have agreements with universities and colleges and your registration will have zero cost benefits, plus, we do all your university admission process.
