Invitations to the Canadian Experience Class are on the riseInvitations to the Canadian Experience Class are on the rise

The Government of Canada has considered granting permanent residency status to 4,000 qualified professionals through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) in the Express Entry lottery on September 19, 2024. This time, the required CRS score was a little higher than the previous draw for this same program, which was given on August 27, however, the number of invitations sent is still high when compared to 911 and 1000 ITAs a few days ago for PNP and French proficiency, respectively.

Welcome to our Express Entry Sweepstakes and Provincial Nominations (PNP) Section of Immiland Canada's informative blog! This segment is dedicated exclusively to keeping you informed on the latest results, as well as giving you recommendations for a successful application. Let's get started!

Details of the third draw of September 2024

  • This third drawing is number 315.
  • It was September 19, 2024.
  • It was conducted through the Canadian Experience Class program.
  • Invited 4,000 temporary foreign workers and qualified international graduates.
  • The minimum CRS score was 509.

Below, I share with you some interesting features you should know about this successful program that is favoring many highly qualified foreigners in Canada.

Does the Canadian Experience Class receive more invitations?

To answer this question, it is enough to take a look at the most recent rounds of this year 2024, even those of previous years, because, in fact, we see that this program is the one that has received the highest number of invitations from the IRCC. From 3000 ITA's to just over 6000 have been received by candidates for permanent residence in Canada and all thanks to their preparation and work experience, academic training and other requirements such as CLB 7 language.

Is the required CRS score higher for CEC than for other programs?

In this case, the answer will depend on many factors because each program, category or PNP has its own criteria for the collection of points, so if we look at the table of the IRCC portal and detail its fields, we will have a very diverse fluctuation of scores. What is certain is that for the Canadian Experience Class you have to have a very high score, above 500, according to the most recent trend.

Benefits of applying for the Canadian Experience Class

Undoubtedly, candidates who obtain higher scores in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) are the ones who have more opportunity within Express Entry. Here are the benefits of applying to Express Entry through the CEC program:

  • They have direct access to permanent residency: this program allows foreign workers who have gained at least one year of experience in the country to change their legal status and settle permanently in Canada.
  • IRCC takes Canadian work experience into account: as the name of the program indicates, candidates who have already accumulated sufficient qualifying work experience in Canada, of at least one year, are those who can qualify, as this demonstrates to the government their ability to integrate into the Canadian labor market.
  • Financial support funds are not required: applicants for the CEC program are exempt from demonstrating to the government that they have the means to support themselves financially in the country in order to obtain their PR (permanent residency).
  • The applicant's academic qualifications do not need to be specific: the candidate can be a temporary foreign worker or a qualified international graduate, the important thing is that he/she meets this requirement because it is what increases the score in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
  • Offers geographic flexibility for living in Canada: the CEC program allows candidates to move to any province or territory except Quebec!

Recommendations for a successful Express Entry application

Time is of the essence in the application, so keep in mind that if you have received an ITA, you have 60 days to file your final application with IRCC.

  • Verify that your documents, such as letters of employment, studies, language level, among others, are complete.
  • If in doubt, consult a Canadian government-regulated advisor.
  • If you have not yet received an invitation, you may need to improve your work, education or language profile. The key is to continue accumulating experience and demonstrable knowledge.
