I do not meet the required language level, how does the pathway work?

When we enroll through Immiland for the main program in one of our partner colleges or universities, you must present the language level through one of the tests accepted by the college or university, if you do not meet the minimum required , it is the college who places you in a level and indicates the time and cost of the same. The pathway is taken before the program, the college gives you a letter of acceptance program + pathway, this will be conditional, which means that to start the program you must successfully complete the pathway.

You must take into account that when you go through the pathway, neither you nor your partner (if applicable) will be able to work until you complete the pathway and obtain an unconditional letter of admission.

Is Immiland in charge of finding daycare or educational institutions?

No, Immiland does not take care of the search for educational institutions, it is a personal process, but we will be happy to guide you where to go to enroll your children in the corresponding daycare or educational institution.

Does the rental price include utilities?

No, normally tenants pay for utilities, in some cases these are units that include water or heat, but it may vary by property and landlord.

Can I apply for a work permit without a job offer?

No, before you apply for a closed (employer-specific) work permit, your employer must give you:

-A copy of your employment contract or job offer
-1 of the following:
*A copy of a labor market impact assessment (LMIA)
*An offer of employment number (for LMIA-exempt workers)

Who can provide sworn translations for immigration purposes in Canada?

Translations for immigration purposes in Canada must be done by a qualified professional. The translator must have experience in both the source and target language (usually English or French). Some recognized authorities that can perform sworn translations are:

Sworn translators accredited by a Canadian provincial or territorial regulatory body.
Membership in a recognized translation association, such as the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO) or the Canadian Council of Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters (CTTIC).
Translation services authorized by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Translators from outside Canada who are accredited (officially recognized or authorized) in the country where the translation is being done. An affidavit must be included stating that the translation is an accurate version of the original text. The translator does so before a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country where he/she resides. The commissioner or notary public must be fluent in English or French in order to administer the oath.
Notary publics or attorneys authorized to certify translations.

My study/work permit was issued for less time than the duration of my study program or job offer, why?

It is possible that your passport expired before the end of your study program or job offer. Canada cannot issue a permit beyond the validity of your passport.
