What is the new Francophone Mobility / Mobilité Francophone program?

What is the new Francophone Mobility / Mobilité Francophone program? What is the new Francophone Mobility / Mobilité Francophone program?

It is now easier for citizens of any country to work in Canada with the Francophone Mobility program and without the need for a positive LMIA! without the need for a positive LMIA!

This is excellent news for this year 2023, since as of June 15, Venezuela, Argentina, Paraguay, Panama, in short, citizens of any nationality will be able to enter Canada, with the exception of the province of Quebec, with a facilitated work permit in any field of work, with the exception of the agricultural sector, and in this way they will be enjoying the same benefit that citizens of Peru, Colombia, Chile, Panama and Mexico have. This new immigration plan is called Francophone Mobility or Mobilité francophone. In this article, we explain how it works and who is eligible.

The first thing you should know is that the Canadian government indicated that this facility seeks to promote the French language in French-speaking minority communities outside the province of Quebec, so it is required to handle a basic level of French, in addition, the country is looking for foreign employees to fill jobs that has not been able to fill with their own Canadian citizens; here enter professionals in all areas, including architects, engineers, accountants, etc., technicians, construction workers, truck drivers, among others, and the best part is that they do not need a positive LMIA or labour impact assessment.

What are the requirements to apply?

  • Demonstrate a minimum level of French CLB 5, that is to say, a command of the language at a conversational level, listening and speaking. It is important to note that it is not necessary that the language of employment be in French, it can also be in English or even Spanish.

You can take the French course with us to get the CLB 5 by clicking on this link: https://www.planeta-immiland-education.com/store-mobilite-francophone

  • Secure an offer of employment in your trade or field of work in any of the TEER/NOC categories, except agriculture. In addition, you must ensure that you have the exact requirements of your NOC/TEER in terms of education and work experience, as you must include evidence of these in your work permit application.

Once you get the job offer, your employer must validate it in the Employer portal, under code C16 in order to get the LMIA exemption code, which will be required to apply for the work permit.

Detailed information can be found on the official IRCC website: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/foreign-workers/exemption-codes/canadian-interests-significant-benefit-mobilite-francophone-r205-exemption-code-c16.html.

Who is eligible?

Any citizen of any country in the world with any profession or trade, except farmers, including all NOC/TEER, plus NOC 0 A, B, C or D, TEER 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. In that sense, you can apply for a job offer in Canada, except the province of Quebec, but you must have work experience in your country and demonstrate your level of training in the area, otherwise your application will not be valid. Doctors, lawyers, architects, designers, masons, drivers, welders, among others, are eligible as long as they can demonstrate their experience and knowledge in the field.

Can the applicant's family also apply?

Yes, both the partner and the children can apply together with the applicant. The couple can apply for an open work permit, children from 0 to 5 years old can enter on a tourist visa and children under 22 years old can enter on a study visa.

How do you prove your level of French if you already have it?

The applicant can demonstrate proficiency in the language at a CLB 5 level by demonstrating the following:

  • Results of the French evaluation test (TEF) or the French knowledge test (TCF).
  • A written confirmation from a college or university on a program completed in French (such as an official letter of completion or transcript).
  • Other documents showing education in French.

What if I apply with a level of French below CLB 5?

If the applicant applied and fulfilled all the requirements, but did not achieve the required basic level of French, the immigration officer, who will interview him/her in French, will realize that he/she does not master the language, so the papers he/she sent in his/her application will be taken as false, so he/she will be denied the Canadian visa and deported.

How long does it take to learn basic French CBL 5?

Do not worry if you do not speak French yet, according to the experience of our academy Planeta Immiland, a student can achieve the French level CBL 5 in three months or 12 weeks, approximately, if you dedicate three hours a day, and once you achieve it, you already have the first requirement for the visa. Remember that what cancels the positive LMIA in this immigration option is the CLB 5 level.

At planeta Immiland, we offer an affordable plan for you to learn to speak French in three months, classes are held from Monday to Thursday and you only have to dedicate three hours a day, take advantage of this option and fulfill your Canadian dream!
