According to Catalyst, a global non-profit organization that works with more than 800 companies worldwide to accelerate women's leadership, as of July 1, 2019, women represented just over half (50.3%) of Canada's total population (37,589,262). By 2031, nearly a quarter (22.7%) of the total female population is projected to be 65 years of age or older, up from 17.5% in 2019.

Younger women (aged 25-34) were more likely to have obtained tertiary education degrees (70%) compared to younger men (53%) in Canada. Just over one-third (35%) of Canadian women had a university education, compared to 29% of men.

Below I will share with you the percentages of women employed by occupation in Canada. 35.3% women in all managerial occupations, 31.5% women in senior management occupations. 51.3% women in skilled middle management occupations, 39.3% women in middle management occupations in retail, wholesale and customer service and 15.9% women in middle management occupations in trades, transportation, production and utilities.

In Canada, there are no limits to work. And a clear example is Thérèse Casgrain, Canadian activist, radio host and political leader. Despite being raised with wealth and privilege, Thérèse Casgrain felt that life should be fair for everyone. She helped found the Provincial Franchise Committee for Women's Suffrage in 1921 and later hosted a prominent radio program, called "Feminine," for Radio-Canada. She became the first woman leader of a political party in Canada, the left-wing Commonwealth Cooperative Federation (CCF), in the 1940s. In the early 1960s, she founded the Quebec branch of Voice of Women to mobilize women against the nuclear threat of the Cold War. Later, she became the Quebec president of the Consumers' Association of Canada. She did much to improve the lives of Canadian women.

This is a country where you can be what you dream of, without restrictions of gender, age, culture, etc. Every day I see policewomen, women working in construction, driving huge trucks that pick up snow or clean streets, CEO women, powerful women who make life in a society that allows all of us to feel welcome and without distinctions.
