French is the golden key to enter Canada with permanent residency. On October 10, 2024, IRCC launched its third draw of the month and did so for the French Proficiency category, again benefiting those foreigners with French language skills and interested in permanent residency. The objective behind this category is to foster the country's economic growth through French-speaking immigration outside Quebec.

In this article of our Immiland Canada blog, I will summarize the details of this sweepstakes for French-speaking foreigners. Read with me to the end so that you know the steps that follow after receiving the invitation and what you can do if you were not invited. Let's get started.

Details of the third draw of October 2024

  • This third drawing is number 318.
  • It was October 10, 2024.
  • This was done through the French Proficiency category.
  • 1000 French-speaking foreigners interested in permanent residency in Canada were invited.
  • The minimum required CRS score was 444.

Important: these 1,000 invitations may apply for residency if they previously qualified for one of the following federal financial programs:

Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Program and/or the Federal Skilled Trades Program, as per Express Entry 318 Ministerial Instructions.

What steps do you take after receiving the invitation?

In this Express Entry sweepstakes, it is not enough just to master the French language, you must now secure your permanent residency application. Here I share six (6) steps you must take after receiving the ITA:

  1. Verify that all information provided in the Express Entry profile is accurate and up to date.
  2. File a complete application for permanent residence within a specified time frame (usually 60 days). This is done through the Express Entry system.
  3. Gather additional documents, such as education certificates, proof of work experience and, very importantly, current French language test results (TEF or TEC, IELTS as well), among others.
  4. Complete all required forms and upload documents correctly.
  5. Wait for the evaluation of your application by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
  6. Once approval is received, start preparing the move to Canada.

Important: remember that planning your Express Entry trip involves researching about life in Canada, what the process of adapting to the new city is like, looking for a job if you haven't already done so, and choosing a good place to stay. Are you ready to apply? Immiland Canada can help you. Ask for a free assessment or schedule an immigration consultation.

Recommendations if you were not invited by the category French proficiency

French speakers have additional advantages in the Express Entry system, and can earn up to 50 additional points provided they can demonstrate proficiency in this language. If you did not receive an ITA in this lottery, I recommend that you evaluate your profile and verify that your information is correct and up to date. Many times it is necessary to improve your language level and other aspects, such as education or work experience.

Remember that in Canadian immigration the process can take some time, so you must be calm, persistent and patient, you can always apply again, but each time with a better immigration profile.

If you need to improve your immigration profile and be more successful in the Express Entry system, schedule a consultation with Immiland and we will be happy to help you.

Thank you for reading us. I hope these steps and recommendations to successfully apply for Express Entry will be useful. If you liked this topic, you can share your feedback at the end of the blog and follow our social networks, see you soon!
