1. You must have the money for tuition for the first year of study. Costs vary depending on the type of studies and are higher for international students. To give you an idea, the most economical programs start at $9000 CAD per year.

Be aware that some educational institutions charge extra money. For example, technology fee, recreation and sports, materials and/or books, health insurance, etc. These costs vary between $1000 and $4000 CAD.

3. You must also take into account the costs of application to the chosen institution . In Immiland we have many educational agreements where we can let you apply for free, however, normally people who decide to do it on their own must pay an administrative fee to the institution for the review of documents, this amount can range from $50 CAD to $300 CAD depending on the institution to apply.

4. Student visa application fees. The Canadian government charges a fee for this procedure, as of today the application fee is $150 CAD, plus biometrics $85 CAD. You must keep in mind that if you wish to study in Quebec you must add the cost for the CAQ (Quebec Acceptance Certificate) which at this moment is $120 CAD. These costs do not include the professional fees of companies with registered consultants such as Immiland Canada, who can do the process for you.

5. Of course you will need the money for the plane ticket. We recommend you to buy it in advance so that the cost is not so high.

6. To apply for a visa you will need to demonstrate that you have the necessary funds to support yourself and your family members (if accompanying you) in Canada . You can check in the following table the minimum funds necessary to support yourself as a student (and accompanying family members).

7. We recommend that you carry a little extra money in case of eventualities, being in a new country it is better to be prepared.

Finally, we remind you that the costs for studying in Canada are cheaper than other countries like the United States. Besides, studying in this wonderful country is an incredible experience and it is definitely worth the effort to get the money needed to do it. Also keep in mind that you will be able to work 20 hours a week if you choose a program of study that meets the requirements (does not apply to language courses). Also, if you are clear about the requirements, studying in Canada can allow you to get permanent residency.
