From modest college to prestigious university

In 1949, Crandall University was actually founded, but by then it was not the institution it is today, but rather a modest biblical college that functioned for Canadian Baptists on the Atlantic Coast. Over time, its focus transitioned to post-secondary education and it became a biblical and Christian liberal arts college under the name Atlantic Baptist College (ABC). 

In 2009, its final name was established in honor of a pioneering Baptist minister in the coastal region named Joseph Crandall, a political figure who had long ago demonstrated his passion for faith and the education of students in general. It was in this spirit of open-mindedness to academic training and legislative recognition in the region that the prestigious Crandall University was born.
