This category consists of three flows or streams, which are:

1. Skilled Worker Stream: for workers who have been identified or hired by an on-island employer. This stream requires that the applicant must be working on the island or have a job offer from a PEI employer. To be an eligible applicant, you must be working in a skilled profession and have relevant experience with at least a higher education degree or diploma.
2. Critical Worker Flow: for workers who have already been hired by an island employer with a view to sponsoring them for permanent residency. Eligible applicants may work in a semi-skilled or unskilled occupation.
3. International Graduate Stream: for recent graduates of accredited and recognized Prince Edward Island universities and colleges, with a previous contract from an Island employer. If eligible, they must work in the professional and specialized area of their field of study.

How does the Express Entry-PNP PEI current work?

This stream is the fast track entry route to Prince Edward Island. PEI's provincial immigration routes are subject to federal allocations for the admission of foreign nationals, the number of applications and the needs of the Island's labor market. Currently, the PEI Immigration Office is selecting and prioritizing skilled workers in high-demand sectors, such as health care, but is also considering trades, child care and other key industries facing labor shortages.
