Manitoba is a beautiful Canadian province perfect for foreigners looking for a safe, peaceful place that offers opportunities for economic growth. This region has a vast territory dedicated to agriculture and natural resources, so the provincial government is looking for skilled labor that can boost it.

Starting this 2025 and for the next three years, foreign nationals interested in Canada can explore the Central West Manitoba Immigration Initiative and find out if they are eligible for this plan that would lead to permanent residency. Let's get started!

What is the Midwest Immigration Initiative?

This initiative is a collaboration between the Manitoba government and a group of rural communities in the Midwest region of the province. Its main objective is to strengthen the local economy and demographics by helping these communities attract, select and retain skilled immigrants to meet their labour and growth needs.

Candidates are nominated through the MPNP, but with the direct support and endorsement of the participating communities in the Midwest region. This ensures that the process is mutually beneficial, as immigrants come to places where they are actively welcomed and helped to integrate and settle permanently.

How many immigrants are expected to be hired in Manitoba?

According to extended data, a survey of 85 employers in the Midwest region of Manitoba revealed an urgency to hire between 240 to 300 qualified foreign nationals willing to contribute their workforce to improve the province's economy.

Over the next three years, the local government will maintain this initiative and seek to attract and retain these foreigners through provincial nomination in the most committed rural communities.

What are the rural communities in Manitoba for this pilot?

The initiative brings together the following regional partners:

  • Municipality of Russell-Binscarth

  • Municipality of Roblin
  • Rural Municipality of Ellice-Archie
