What is a Request Letter?
This letter is typically issued by IRCC when additional documents or clarification are required before a decision is made on an application for temporary residence, such as a visitor visa, study permit, or work permit, or for permanent residence. In some cases, it may also be a Procedural Fairness Letter. Generally, you must respond with an explanatory letter that addresses each of the points requested by IRCC and is supported by documentation that substantiates the arguments presented.
What kind of information is required in a Request Letter?
IRCC generally requests additional information about financial background to support an application for a study visa or permanent residence, additional evidence to demonstrate a legitimate spousal or family relationship, documents to determine criminal or medical inadmissibility, labor certifications to substantiate work experience related to a job offer when applying for a work permit or express entry, etc.
