Newfoundland and Labrador has a reputation for being friendly. Warm and welcoming, the people are also known for their naturally creative, unique language. The main language is English, it is part of the Atlantic provinces. The territory shares a border with Quebec. From the days of fishing, trapping and whaling in Labrador to the military bases of the Cold War era, it has a rich history and breathtaking scenery.
Newfoundland has a humid continental climate influenced by coastal currents and icebergs. Summers are generally pleasant but brief. Average July temperatures remain cool along the south and east coast, especially, with average daily temperatures in the low teens.

Health health system
International students are eligible for free basic health coverage through the province's Health Care Plan, provided they are enrolled in full-time studies for a period of at least 12 months. For the first year of study they must opt for private health insurance.
Driver's driver's license
Those moving to Newfoundland and Labrador, who are originally from outside Canada and are applying for a learner's permit or driver's license, must provide proof of lawful presence in Canada.
