CAQ

A CAQ is a document that authorizes a foreigner to work or study in the province of Quebec for a period of more than 6 months.

A Quebec Certificate of Acceptance (CAQ) is a document issued by the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francophonie et de l'Intégration (MIFI) authorizing a foreigner to work or study in the province of Quebec for a period of more than 6 months.

Restrictions for this document

  • Students applying for a CAQ must already have been admitted to a DLI institution in Quebec.
  • The official language of Quebec is French.

Requirements for this document

The requirements vary whether you are a worker or a student.

  • Who has been administered in a DLI institution in Quebec (student), or who has a positive LMIA to work in Quebec (worker).
  • Demonstrate that you are able to assume the costs of living in Quebec.
  • Commit to the conditions of your Quebec Certificate of Acceptance.
  • Pay the fee.
  • Medical Insurance is sometimes required.
